A route curated by the Morgan and Morgan team. 3 hour walk over 12 km's in the breathtaking landscape of the Mortitx Vineyard.
Blue skies and the warm sunshine in our faces is the perfect combination to drive up to the Mortitx vineyard, just 15 minute drive from Pollensa Town.A public finca where they produce the high quality wine due to the interesting micro climate and from where you can take one of the many routes through the Tramuntana Mountains.
Today we take a leisurely mountain walk, with a few steep challenges, to Ses Basses. A high plateau above the sea and an off-the-beaten path in the Tramuntana.
The beginning of the walk is fairly easy and we are greeted by a flock of sheep, the unique shaped olive trees and the imposing mountains rising above us.
Along the trail we encounter a secluded water reservoir that invites us to take a moment to catch our breath and enjoy the serenity of the area.
The second part of the walk is a little bit more challenging as the winding road leads us up and down the mountain.
In the end we arrive at a quiet spot, giving the sensation we are at the end of the world. A flat grass plain with in the middle a cave filled with water. The silence at this place takes your breath away with only the screeching sound of the hawk in far away in the distance.
We recommend to take a bit more time to enjoy the breathtaking views along this trail. Therefore make sure you wear comfortable clothes, bring enough water and a few snacks. Please carry all the litter back with you.
The trail is closed from the 2nd of February to the 1st of July due to vulture breeding season. Discover many of the other trails close to Pollenca Town in the North of Mallorca.
