General Bosch 12

The vision for General Bosch 12 was born from a deep respect for Mallorca’s historic townhouses — and a desire to reimagine their character with elegance, craft, and comfort. Having viewed this unusually wide townhouse in early 2019 with interior designer Samantha Knight, we instantly knew it was the blank canvas we were looking for. Now transformed into a sanctuary of barefoot living, this is where the bones of history meet the refinement of contemporary design.

Step through the restored double doors and the scale immediately astonishes. At over eight metres wide and fifteen metres deep, the ground floor offers rare generosity, with high ceilings and a volume that breathes. The design philosophy is simple: materials tell the story. Lime-plastered walls catch the light like worn stone. Reclaimed tiles from the original interiors find new life in the porch and WC. Locally quarried travertine blurs the line between interior and courtyard.

Upstairs, the atmosphere becomes more intimate. Oak floors in a warm blond finish and traditional beams define the bedrooms. Each one was conceived as a retreat — calm, uncluttered, and layered with light. Bathrooms are serene and tactile, clad in natural stone with bespoke brassware and polished plaster. The master suite includes a custom wardrobe and elegant en-suite, designed for rest and ease.

At the heart of the living space, the kitchen unfolds with quiet confidence. Bespoke oak cabinetry crafted by local artisans, a sculptural Mallorcan stone island veined with bronze, and soft basket lighting set a considered tone. Pocket doors reveal a breakfast station, while every detail — from brushed brass taps to sink fittings — feels indulgent, but never ostentatious.

Outside, the home reveals its soul. A restored stone wall frames the rear courtyard, where a shimmering pool is finished in reclaimed tiles. The roof terrace, designed for barefoot dining and quiet moments, offers views across the mountains and church. General Bosch 12 is a passion project — an expression of heritage, craftsmanship, and timeless elegance, brought to life through thoughtful design.
